Instant Jams (Volumes 1 & 2) is a collection of 13 arrangements for jazz ensemble including swing, blues, Latin, waltz, and rock/straight 8th. Take a peek at all 13 charts in a short reel for Vol 1 here and Vol 2 here. View the full charts in Volume 2 here.  

Instant Jams presents the ultimate in flexible scoring with a grand staff for all instruments (parts 1 and 2). It is written to be playable by as few as two wind instruments, yet sounds complete with a full ensemble. The writing is suitable for beginning jazz players. More experienced students will enjoy the tasteful arrangements and solid jazz pedagogy. 

Every chart has an open solo section utilizing a single scale or note-cell.  

There are two bass parts: basic and advanced. The former plays mostly roots while the latter does more walking. 

The piano left hand doubles the “Bass (Basic)” part. It can be used to support a developing bassist or left out altogether. 

There parts for flute, F horn and tuba, while clarinets double a trumpet part.
