MARCHING SHOW RATES
$200 per minute of music is the minimum rate for wind and percussion parts. Percussion includes a standard battery of quads, snare, bass, and cymbals.
$50 additional per minute of music for frontline percussion and/or enhanced battery (more instruments, drumline features, etc.).
$50 additional per minute of music (possibly) for elements such as difficulty (grade 5-6) or creative elements (e.g. significant non-traditional instruments and other unique requests).
$400 minimum per minute of original music.
You will be given ongoing editing rights, meaning I will work with you to make any changes even after the final draft is paid for and acquired. I want to get the show just how you want it. However, additional charges will apply if wholesale changes are made that require additional writing.
LICENSING
All copyright and licensing is the responsibility of the purchaser (you). It is highly recommended that you confirm the license availability before you fall in love with an idea and commit to any songs.
A good place to start is the ASCAP Repertory Search. You can often find direct licensing contact info for publishers.
Otherwise, most songs are owned and sold by Hal Leonard and can be obtained through Tresona. There are other options if your group will not march competitively; reach out for more information.
